Dr. Obinna Awiaka declares the 9th session of the Association of Nigerian Dispensing Opticians (ANDO ) Annual conference and AGM 2024 open!

The Registrar and Chief Executive Officer Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Registration Board of Nigeria (ODORBN ) Dr. Obinna Edwin Awiaka flagged off the 9th edition of the ANDO National Conference and AGM taking place in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Speaking at the occasion, the Registrar charged the Nigerian Opticians to take the bull by the horns in advocating for their cause and fully integrate into the value chain of the eye care delivery system.

He enjoined them to build capacity in the leadership sphere, support the young ones amongst them, and practice within their scope and jurisdiction.

He mandated them to participate and venture into areas of their profession yet untapped, think outside the box, and be innovative in the growing world of technological advancement in the optical industry.

He assured them of the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Registration Board of Nigeria, support at all times to break barriers, practice adequately, and fight quackery in the profession and the industry.

He charged them to be good ambassadors of the profession and always work with pride that they are indispensable partners in the eye care delivery system in the health sector.

Other dignitaries at the occasion include the Hon. Commissioner of Health Rivers State ably represented by Dr. Vincent Nwachukwu Director of Medical Services Rivers State Ministry of Health, Dr. Chidi Nwokocha Assistant Chief Medical Director Rivers State University Teaching Hospital, ANDO National President Optician Oghenerho silvester Obote, immediate past national president of ANDO Optician David Mallim, Chairman ANDO Board of trustees Optician Ezekiel Udom and a host of others.
